SUNNYBROW Academy is a permanent makeup academy in Koreatown, Los Angeles, built on more than 17 years of real client experience in Korea and the U.S. Our permanent makeup (cosmetic tattoo) courses go beyond memorizing patterns — students learn how skin, needle control, depth, pigment selection, design, and technique work together, and how to adjust those decisions for every client.
Whether you are new to permanent makeup or an experienced beauty professional adding a new technique, our goal is to help you build the technical foundation and practical judgment to work with real clients.
Choose the Training That Fits the Way You Learn
SUNNYBROW Academy offers seven permanent makeup courses in Los Angeles, from 7-hour Skill-Up sessions ($1,200) to the 24-hour Nano Brow 4-Week Training ($4,200). Every course includes supervised live-model practice.
Step-by-step Nano Brow training in a small group of no more than two students, with repeated practice, detailed correction, and two supervised live-model sessions.
Nano Brow 4-Week Training
Learn Nano Brows from the fundamentals — brow anatomy, machine control, pigment mixing, and stroke pattern design — in a class of no more than two.
Focused, one-on-one programs with Sunny. Learn the technical principles behind each procedure, receive detailed corrections, and gain experience through supervised live-model training.
Nano Brow 3-Day Intensive
One-on-one training in realistic hairstrokes, precise machine control, and customized brow design.
Lip Blush 2-Day Intensive
Private training in lip design, color theory, and neutralization, with a supervised live-model session.
Powder Brow 2-Day Intensive
A private program for first-time Powder Brow students, from shading principles to soft gradient technique.
Private sessions for artists with prior training or hands-on experience. Identify technical challenges, refine existing skills, and improve precision, consistency, and healed results.
Powder Brow 1-Day Skill-Up
Refine machine control, gradient shading, and skin-specific adjustments in your existing Powder Brow work.
Lip Blush 1-Day Skill-Up

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need prior experience to take a PMU course?
No prior experience is required for our Nano Brow 4-Week Training or Private Intensive Training.
Our Skill-Up Training is designed for PMU artists who already have prior training or hands-on experience and want to refine their technique, correct specific challenges, or improve their results.
How much does PMU training cost at SUNNYBROW Academy?
Tuition ranges from $1,200 for a 1-Day Skill-Up Training to $4,200 for the Nano Brow 4-Week Training.
Private Intensive Training ranges from $1,850 to $2,800, depending on the course. Each course page includes full tuition details and a list of materials or equipment included.
Will I receive a certificate after training?
Yes. A Certificate of Completion is provided for every SUNNYBROW Academy course.
Please note that a training certificate is not a license or practitioner registration. Requirements vary by location. In Los Angeles County, permanent makeup practitioners are required to register as Body Art Practitioners and complete an approved Bloodborne Pathogens training course.
We are happy to guide you through the basic requirements and where to find the appropriate information.
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
No. We provide the materials and equipment needed for hands-on training during class.
Some courses also include a PMU machine, pigments, needles, or practice skin for you to keep. Please check the individual course details for exactly what is included in your tuition.
Do I need to find my own live model?
Students are encouraged to arrange their own live models whenever possible.
If you're having difficulty finding a suitable model, please let us know in advance. SUNNYBROW Academy may be able to assist with finding a model depending on availability, but model placement is not guaranteed.
If you plan to bring your own model, please let us know ahead of time so we can confirm that they are a good fit for the procedure.
When are course dates scheduled?
Training dates are scheduled based on course demand and instructor availability.

Can I enroll in more than one course?
Yes. You may enroll in multiple courses based on your goals and availability.
However, we generally recommend focusing on one technique at a time so you have enough time to practice, understand the technique, and build confidence before adding another skill.
Are classes taught in Korean?
Yes. All SUNNYBROW Academy courses are available in English and Korean. View our Korean-language Academy page (아카데미).
Do you offer microblading classes?
Our brow training focuses on Nano Brows and Powder Brows, rather than traditional microblading.
Nano Brows create highly realistic, hair-like strokes using a PMU machine instead of a manual blade. Because the technique uses a fine needle rather than making manual blade cuts in the skin, it allows for more precise control and a less traumatic approach to creating hairstrokes.
Nano Brows are one of the most advanced modern hairstroke techniques in permanent makeup and are the primary hairstroke technique we teach at SUNNYBROW Academy.
What are the deposit, payment, and rescheduling policies for training?
A deposit is required to reserve your training dates, and the remaining balance is due before your training begins.
We accept credit cards, cash, checks, Venmo, and Zelle.
If you need to reschedule your training, please contact us as early as possible. Rescheduling is subject to availability and the terms of your course reservation.
